UNB, Bagerhat :Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Dr Mizanur Rahman on Monday said there is a correlation between the killings of two foreigners and assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Ibrahim Hossain Mollah.”Those who have killed this policeman shouldn’t be taken into account separately from those who want to create instability in the country,” he told reporters while visiting the slain Ibrahim’s ancestral home in Kachua upazila of the district.Ibrahim Hossain Mollah, an ASI of Darus Salam Police Station in Dhaka city, was stabbed to death on October 22 by a miscreant at a check-post at Gabtali in the capital when a police team was searching his bag.Dr Mizan said the sacrifice of this policeman is a wake-up call for all against any big possible terrorist activity. “And this has also proved that the police force is sincere to play its due role.”The ASI will ever be remembered for the role he played when local and international cliques are engaged in conspiracies to hinder the trial process of war criminals in Bangladesh, the NHRC chairman told the local newsmen. The terrorists have carried out the heinous incidents at a time when some war crimes accused have been convicted, while some others are awaiting execution of their sentences, he said adding that the trial process of war crime accused should be expedited without wasting time.Terming terrorism the enemy of mankind and world civilisation, Dr Mizan said it is not only the duty of the State, but also of all international quarters to annihilate this menace. The NHRC chairman also offered fateha at the grave of ASI Ibrahim at Palpara village of Kachua upazila and consoled his family members, including his parents, wife and children.”He (Ibrahim) was the lone bread-earner of our family. Now we’ve lost everything. The terrorists have snatched my husband making me a widow and my children fatherless.” Ibrahim’s wife Khairunnessa told the NHRC chief with tears rolling down her cheeks.Demanding the trial of the killer of her husband, she appealed to the Prime Minister for providing her with a job so that she can support the family.
