RAB-7 forces in Chittagong recovered huge quantities of foreign wines and beers from Karnaphuli Export processine zone are in Chittagong on Sunday evening .
Acting on secret tip-off, RAB forces led by District Executive Magistrate Anisul Islam accompanied with the officials of Narcotics Deptt and Customs conducted raid in a trading shop named AH Kabir & Company inside the KEPZ area on Saturday evening.
RAB sources said they recovered wines consists of 4000 bottles of foreign whisky and 39000 pieces beer cans , approximate market price of Tk.4 crores.
Law enforcers rounded up six persons including two drivers allegedly involved with the trading and hoarding of foreign wine without valid license. Filing of case is under process with the concerned police station, sources said.
The detained staffs of the shop asre Shishir Ahmed , Soyeb, Shafiq, Ismail, and drivers Mizan and Taleb. RAB forces also detained two private cars from the possession of the Kabir Company.
Sources said Dildar Hossain of Dhaka is the owner of the shop and this was used as Bar and the organization has valid license of import of wines but not permitted as Bar . So the operation of Bar in the name of Kabir & Company is illegal and hence they seized the entire stocks of wine from the shop, sources said.
