Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque has visited the Consulate General of Bangladesh in New York and urged the officials there to perform their duties with more devotion. During the visit on Wednesday, the minister assured the mission officials of extending all-out support from the ministry, said a Foreign Ministry media release on Thursday. Consul General M Shameem Ahsan and other officers and officials of the Mission welcomed the Foreign Secretary. Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to UN Dr Abdul Momen, senior officials from the government of Bangladesh, among others, were present.
During interaction with the mission officials, the Foreign Secretary highlighted the policy priorities of the present government. While touching the consular and welfare issues, he mentioned that the present government has attached the highest priority to the wellbeing of the expatriate Bangladesh nationals.
The Consul General briefly narrated the activities of the Mission and expressed its gratefulness for the continued support being received from the government.
