Six visiting foreign journalists both from print and electronic media called on State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md. Shahriar Alam on Wednesday night at the Bengal Lounge, Dhaka Club.
These media personnel from Japan, Lebanon, Italy, and India have been visiting Bangladesh since February 19, according to foreign ministry sources.
During the meeting, the state minister and the journalists exchanged views on various national and international important issues and emphasized on enhancing people-to-people contacts.
Director General of the External Publicity Wing Md. Lutfor Rahman and other high officials of the ministry were also present on the occasion.
Later, the state minister hosted a dinner in honour of the foreign journalists, where he introduced them with the Press Advisor and Press Secretary to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Press Secretary to the President
Md. Abdul Hamid and local senior journalists.
The foreign journalists will leave Dhaka today.
