Bangladesh foreign exchange reserves have hit a new record by crossing $42 billion.
It is the first time that foreign exchange reserves have crossed $42 billion, said a Bangladesh Bank official on Tuesday.
Earlier, on October 28 this year, foreign exchange reserves hit another record of $41.03 billion. Last year, it was $32.39 billion, the official said.
Analysing the data of Bangladesh Bank, it was found that reserves have been increasing day by day as imports decreased due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which badly affected different sectors of the country’s economy.
