Chittagong Bureau :
Customs team at Chittagong Port seized one container foreign cigarettes at New Mooring container yard on Sunday.
These cigars imported from Singapore with false declaration , sources said.
After physical inventory of the imported consignment , the false declaration was detected. Port sources said these cigars were imported from Singapore d eclaring sports ware accessories by Kadena Sportsware Ltd of Comilla EPZ.
Sarashin Corporation was the C&F agent of the consignment , sources added.
Acting on secret tip-off, customs officials conducted physical inventory of the consignment and traced 573 cartons of Benson, Dunhill, and 3-G Rothi brand cigarette. The approximate value of the seized cigars is about Tk13 cr, customs sources said.
