A Dhaka court yesterday sent former national footballer Kaiser Hamid in the jail in a case filed on the charge of cheating.
On Monday Magistrate Mamunur Rashid of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order.
Earlier, the court heard the bail petition of the former footballer Kaiser Hamid and sent him to the jail custody rejecting his bail plea.
Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Police arrested the former national footballer. ASP Sharmin Jahan of CID told newsmen that law enforces arrested him from
Elephant Road area of the city around 9.30 pm on Sunday.
Police said Kaiser Hamid had a company named ‘New Way Multipurpose Cooperative Society’. Using the farm, he took money from people but failed to give return. The company was shut about eight years ago. Later, an arrest warrant was issued against him on charges of embezzlement of fund.
He took 22 lakh Taka from complainant of the case. Besides, he took crores of Taka from innocent people and he confessed this truth to the authorities. He was at large for a long time. However, his lawyer Abu Sayed denied the charges on his behalf in the court. Meanwhile, the investigation of the incident continues.
