State Minister for Housing and Public Works on Monday distributed foodstuffs as gift of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina among 600 low-income and distressed people at Baishakhi Manch in Joynul Abedin park area in Mymensingh.
Mymensingh district administration organised the programme to assist the distressed and poor people during Corona pandemic situation.
City Mayor Ekramul Haque Teto, Deputy Commissioner Md. Enamul Haque, ,Additional Polce Super Md. Shajahan, President of City Awami League Ehteshamul Alam, among others, were present.
Sources said each beneficiary received rice, pulses, onion, potato, Swabine oil, Sola and salt.
District Administration sources told media that a total of four thousand packets of essentials foodstuffs will be distributed as gift of Prime Minister among the low income groups and distressed people in different parts of the district during lockdown and Corona pandemic.
The beneficiaries are happy to get such a help during the lock down period. They expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for giving them the essential food items ongoing lock down situation.
The state minister said the incumbent Prime Minister has taken serious steps to prevent Covid-19.
