Ashish Pradhan, President of Siegwerk Asia, will be visiting Bangladesh from July 4-8 to talk to stakeholders about the health and safety aspects in the packaged food industry.
Ashish is an industry leader with close to 30 years of experience and extensive knowledge of the ink industry, reports UNB.
Siegwerk, a sixth-generation family-owned company, is one of the leading international manufacturers of printing inks, coatings and individual solutions for packaging, labels, and catalogs.
During the visit, Ashish will be meeting government officials, regulatory bodies, customers, partners and brand owners to discuss the importance of food packaging safety from an ink manufacturer’s perspective and how to work towards a regulation for improving food packaging safety standards in Bangladesh, said a media release on Sunday.
With its initiative of a toluene-free ink production, Siegwerk Bangladesh aims to create a nationwide ink safety scenario – especially highlighting the negative health impact of using toxic ingredients in printing inks and other unsafe elements in the production of food packaging.
The company’s blending center is located in at the Meghna Economic Zone in Narayanganj, Bangladesh and reached the break-even point in the first year of its center’s operation this year.
The company has been working with country’s leading converters and brand owners to make sure their entire range of product packaging are printed with toluene free inks.
