Minister of Food Qamrul Islam on Tuesday has warned against the exploiters of the distribution programme of “10 taka/killogram rice” to the poor and less fortunate.
In a press briefing at his Secretariat office, Qamrul told the media that they intend to keep the programme beyond all controversy.
“No irregularities will be tolerated,” he added while warning against the violators.
“There will be no discrimination in the distribution of rice based on political affiliation,” he said.
The Food Minister sought the support of all kinds of media for the implementation of it.
Earlier, on September 7, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the programme of rice distribution at only Tk 10/Kg at Chilmari in Kurigram in a move to make Bangladesh hunger free.
