Profit Foundation, a local non-government organisation, has taken initiative to distribute Ramadan packages among 100 poor, helpless and disadvantaged families in Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat district of Rangpur division on Sunday.
Lalmonirhat DC Md. Abu Jafar was present as the chief guest at the distribution function at Dalgram Dakhil Madrasa ground premises of Kaliganj Upazila. Kaliganj Assistant Commissioner (Land) Israt Jahan Chhani was present as special guest. Iqbal Hossain, Muslim Aid UK Co-ordinator Khandaker Abdul Quader Raju, PF Executive Director Md. Nuruzzaman Ahmed, Muslim Aid UK Senior Officer Md. Shah Aliullah, Dalgram Dakhil Madrasa Super, Md. Nurul Islam and others.
During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslim Aid UK distributed 45.5 kg of food items to poor and needy families during the holy month of Ramadan. Food items included rice 20 kg, potato 5 kg, edible oil 2 kg soybean, lentils 2 kg, onion 2 kg, salt 1 kg, dates 2 kg, turnip 2 kg, gram 2 kg, chira 2 kg, semai 2 pack, noodles 2 pack, sugar 1 kg packet, half a kg of powdered milk.
Sylhet Bureau adds: Sunrise Samaj Kallan Sangstha distributed free iftar food items for Ramzan among the poor people of Paschimbhag in Dakshin Surma recently. Poor people of Paschimbhag took the iftar items for Ramadan expected to be held on 1 April at a programme at Paschimbhag Government Primary School ground.Ishaq Ahmed, a member of Ward No. 4 of Lalabazar UP, inaugurated the food distribution programmed.
President of Sunrise Samaj Kallan Sangstha Ruhul Amin Didar presided over the inaugural function and all the Adviser and members of the organization including Jubo League leaders Rubel Ahmed, Azizul Islam, Mujahid Ali and Abdur Rahim were present.
At the end of the program, the members of the organization went from house to house in the village and handed over food items to the members of low income families.
Imad Uddin, general secretary of Sunrise Samaj Kallan Sangstha, said the organization always works for the people of the society. Following this, Ramadan Iftar items were distributed among the low-income people in the village on the occasion of Holy Ramadan. I would like to express my gratitude to all the members of the organization including the expatriates who have contributed financially for the implementation of this initiative.
With the exception of the recipients, the food items are delivered to the homes of the recipients at the initiative of the company. Their initiative has already been widely acclaimed in the whole area.
