Fulel Food Products has been fined Tk 3 lakh by a mobile court in CCC for producing sweets and bakery products in an unhealthy, dirty and smelly environment. In the same operation, Mecca Hotel and Restaurant in Muradpur
has been fined Tk 2 lakh for making unhealthy food and storing it for sale.
Executive Magistrate Marufa Begum Nellie led the operation conducted by Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) on Wednesday. Another operation was led by Special Magistrate Manisha Mahajan.
She also fined 17 shopkeepers Tk 24,000 for occupying the sidewalks and roads of Pathantuli, Chaumuhoni and Halishahar roads in the city and obstructing the movement of goods and construction materials.
During the drive, officers and employees of the concerned department of CCC, Chittagong Metropolitan Police assisted members.
