Jatiya Sangsad Whip Mahabub Ara Begum Gini underscored the need for following the health guidelines properly to face the coronavirus pandemic.
Every people should wear mask and maintain social distancing to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in the country, she said. She came up with the comments while addressing a function on cash distribution among able poor married couple at Ballamjhar Union Parishad Complex hall room under Gaibandha district as the chief guest. The cash was distributed under a project named Jawtno under ministry of local government, rural development and cooperatives. Gini said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina established community clinics at grass roots level to ensure primary health care services for the poor community people across the country. The able poor married couple had been brought under various family planning activities at the cordial initiative of the government to check population growth, she added.
Apart from it, the government took different project for the women so that they could pass their days without economic trouble, she continued. Later, the whip formally distributed the cash of TK 65 lakh to 1,660 destitute women.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Nahidur Rahman, organizing secretary of district Awami League Mridul Mostafiz Jhantu, Union Parishad chairman Jahidul Islam Jhantu, political leaders, public representatives and local elite were present on the occasion.
