Bangladesh Meteorological Department said that the foggy weather with cold wave that started on Saturday would continue for two or three more days across the country.
The lowest temperature of the day in the country was recorded at 10.2 Degree Celsius at Ishwardi in Pabna district.
The Met office said that, the night and day temperature may fall slightly over the country.
“The gloomy weather likely to continue for another two or three days,’ said Meteorologist Md Abul Kalam Mollik.
Besides, the people especially elder persons and children are infected by cold related diseases in this cold wave.
The latest data of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Control Room showed that about 5,233 people have been affected with various cold-related diseases across the country during the last 24 hours.
It showed that 834 of the patients received treatment for acute respiratory infection. Another 1,754 were treated for diarrhea and 2,645 for other diseases including jaundice, inflammation in the eye, skin diseases and fever.
According to the latest Met Office bulletin, ridge of sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and adjoining western part of Bangladesh as seasonal low lies over South Bay.
It also said that the weather might remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country, it said. Moderate to thick fog may occur at places over the country during midnight to morning.
