Fog disrupts flight operations at HSIA

Flight operations were disrupted for about seven hours due to dense fog at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka on Tuesday.
A total of 14 scheduled flights at the airport have been delayed while eight others were diverted from national and international airports during the disruption period.
The flights were diverted to Kolkata, Bangkok, Myanmar and Sylhet airports during the period, said SM Wahidur Rahman, Deputy Director of Air Traffic Control of the HSIA.
The authorities suspended the flight operation centering the poor visibility around 3:00am, which resumed at 9:40am, the HSIA official said.
