Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Professor Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah has called upon writers and poets for writing books focusing contemporary thoughts to enlighten the society. “Newer dimensions should be added to writings taking consideration of present situation, future vision and perspectives of changing time while producing literary works to nurture those for spreading light in darkness,” he said. Professor Kalimullah made these observations while addressing a book publication ceremony organised by Rangpur Shahitya-Sangskriti Parishad (RSSP) at Shilpokola Academy auditorium in Rangpur on Friday night as the chief guest.
He called upon common people, especially young generations and students, to nurture habit of reading books for expanding space of knowledge, getting elation and entertainment to make them enlightened citizens. Renowned literary personalities, researchers and academicians Mostafa Toffael, Professor Dr Sharifa Salowa Dina, Abu Bakar Siddik, Associate Professor Dr Tuhin Wadud, Assistant Professor Dr Md Nazrul Islam and Associate Professor Dr Rishin Parimal addressed the book launching ceremony.
Presided over by President of RSSP Aftab Hossain, Regional Director of Rangpur Kendra of Bangladesh Betar Syeed Mostafa Kamal and Founding President of RSSP Professor Muhammad Alim Uddin addressed the function as guests of honour.
