FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Leonine Chess Club is now taking the solo lead in the points table with maximum 5 points after 5th round games of the Gazi Habibur Rahman International Rating Chess Tournament is now being held at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room.
GM Ziaur Rahman of Dhaka Mohmammedan Sporting Club Limited, IM Minhaz Uddin ,S M Sharon of Bangladesh Navy and Abdullah Al-Saif of Golden Sporting Club are sharing 2nd position with 4½ points each.
The 5th round games were held yesterday (Friday).
In the 5th round games: Parag beat Uten, Minhaz drew with Zia, Sharon beat FM Mohammad Javed, Saif beat FM Rezaul Haque, Golam Mostafa beat Subrata Biswas, Sohel Chowdhury beat Aminul Islam, FM Md Saif Uddin Lavlu beat Faisal Hossain, Ikramul Haq Siam beat Mokaddesur Rahman Khan, Mohammed Enayet Hossain beat Badrul Alam, Ibrahim Parvej beat Almasur Rahman, Arun Chandra Sarker beat A B Bappi, Golam Sarwar beat Nayan Kumar Mohanto and Saimon Siddiqur Rahman beat Amir Hossain.
The 6th round games will start today (Saturday) from 2.30 pm at the same venue.
