FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Leonine Chess Club is maintaining solo lead in the points table with maximum 6 points after 6th round games of the Gazi Habibur Rahman International Rating Chess Tournament is now being held at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room.
GM Ziaur Rahman of Dhaka Mohmammedan Sporting Club Limited is in the 2nd position with 5½ points. Shawkat Hossain Pollab, FM Md Saif Uddin Lavlu of Titas Club, S M Sharon of Bangladesh Navy, Belal Hossain of Monipur Chess Club and Ibrahim Parvej are sharing 3rd position with 5 points each.
The 6th round games were held yesterday (Saturday).
In the 6th round games: Parag beat IM Minhaz Uddin of Bangladesh Navy, Zia beat Abdullah Al-Saif of Golden Sporting Club, Sharon drew with CM Sohel Chowdhury, Pollab beat Arun Kumer Sarker, Golam Mostafa Bhuiya drew with P J Bakul Barua, Belal beat CM Mahtabuddin Ahmed, Lavlu beat Saimon Siddiqur Rahman, Ikramul Haq Siam drew with Golam Sarwar and Parvej beat Mohammed Enayet Hossain of Fire-Service.
The 7th round games will start today (Sunday) from 2.30 pm at the same venue.
