FM Fahad Rahman becomes unbeaten champion in Dubai Juniors Chess

FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Sheikh Russel Memorial Sporting Club became unbeaten champion in the 14th Dubai Juniors Chess Tournament, which was concluded at Dubai in United Arab Emirates on Tuesday.
Fahad earned 8 points out of 9 games to clinch the title. 9th or last round games were held on Tuesday noon.
In last round game, Fahad beat CM Al Hosani Omran of United Arab Emirates. Earlier, on Monday in 8th round game Fahad (Rating-2157) drew with 2390 rated top seeded player in the event FM Matviisshen Victor of Ukraine.
In this event, Fahad won 7 games and drew 2 games.
Fahad received two thousand US dollars as cash prize, Sheikh Mahtoum Bin Hamdan Al Maktoum Cup and a gold medal. Rahul Srivatshav of India became runner-up and FM Matviisshen Victor of Ukraine became 3rd with 7½ points.
A total of 111 under-14 years’ old players from 13 countries participated in the event. Mahindra Conveyor sponsored Fahad, Bangladesh Olympic Association and Bangladesh Chess Federation helped him to participate in the event.
