Fed Cup Football: Flying start for Bashundhara Kings

Reigning champions Bashundhara Kings made a flying in the Walton Federation Cup Football defeating Rahmatganj MFS by three goals to nil in their opening match at the country’s prime venue Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.
Bashundhara’s Brazilian recruits Fernandez, Robinho and their Argentine recruit Raul showed an outstanding performance in their first Group-C match against the Old-Dhaka based out-fit.
On the other hand, Rahmatganj MFS were busy in the defense for most of the time to save their goalbar.
Bashundhara led the first half 1-0.
Raul put his team ahead in the 42nd minute using a free-kick of his teammate Fernandez.
After the lemon-break, Robinho got the ball from a miss pass of Rahmantganj defender Kiron and Robinho put the ball into the goalbar deceiving the advanced Rahmatganj goalie in the 53rd minute of the play.
Rahmatganj conceded an own goal when their Egyptian recruit Naser tried to clear the ball by header of a volley of his teammate Imon Mahmud in the 64th minute of the clash.
Rahmatganj got only one chance in the clash when Monwar Hossain’s angular shot was saved by Bashundhara custodian Anisur Rahman in the 32nd minute of the game.
