Only three years after its launching in 2008, Dubai-based airline started flight operations to and from Dhaka in February 2011 and at the moment the airliner operates fourteen flights a week (at the rate of two per day) through Dhaka. The airline operates flights to and from Dhaka with 189-seat Boeing 737 aircraft at a cheap rate of fare.
At the moment flydubai operates flights to as many as ninety destinations mainly to Asian and Middle Eastern countries.
“Our flights from Dhaka always have good load factor because our rate of fare is cheap for traveling in our all economy class planes,” said an official of Sky Aviation Services Limited, the GSA of flydubai in Dhaka while talking to this correspondent in the morning on September 7 (Tuesday) last.
Some people think that flydubai is a subsidiary of Emirates. The idea is absolutely wrong because both the airliners are independent and have no connection with each other in any way. Emirates operates air services to and from Dhaka having its own offices in Bangladesh and flydubai operates through a GSA having no staff of flydubai’s own. The only similarity between the airliners is that both of them are Dubai-based.
