Flourishing women leadership for national uplift underscored

Flourishing of the women leadership has become a prerequisite for eradicating gender disparity and improving socioeconomic condition of the womenfolk to attain sustainable national uplift, speaker said.
They put emphasis on bringing an end to all sorts of discriminations and tortures being faced by the womenfolk in families, society and in every sphere of life to pave the way for smooth flourishing of women leadership at all levels.
They were addressing inaugural ceremony of a three-day foundation training course organised by Bikoshito Nari Network (BNN) for the grassroots level women leaders with the assistance of The Hunger Project at a local hotel in Rangpur on Friday.
Additional District Magistrate of Rangpur Tonima Tasmin attended the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest with President of the District Girl Child Advocacy Forum Principal Fakhrul Anam Benzu in the chair. Convener of BNN Fatema Yasmin Ira Haque, its Joint Convener Safura Reza Chowdhury, member of district unit of Sushashoner Janno Nagorik Asaduzzaman Afzal and Coordinator of The Hunger Project Rajesh Dey Raju addressed as the special guests.
The speakers appreciated BNN role in flourishing women leadership in recent years by reducing repression on women and eradicating dowry, child marriage, divorce and polygamy in the process of building a peaceful society and women empowerment.
They urged the women activists to remain united and create excellent relations among them, improve leadership quality, acquire more knowledge and experience for ensuring women rights and their greater access to every sphere of the national life.
The chief guest stressed for protection and promotion rights of the women and girl children, ensuring access to productive resources and encouraging equitable sharing of family responsibilities, food security and social empowerment in all spheres of life.
