Flourishing of objective journalism stressed

Additional Secretary of Information Ministry Monjurur Rahman underlined the need for flourishing of objective journalism and resisting the flow of yellow journalism for highlighting the actual picture of the society and keeping the society free from crime, corruption, superstition, fundamentalism and militancy.
“The media is enjoying freedom now than any times of the past as the present government has taken many steps for freedom of the press to ensure free flow of information for the people as well as to keeping them free from confusion and upholding the truth” he said here on Friday night while he was addressing as chief guest at a views-exchanging meeting with local journalists at Netrakona Circuit House.
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Netrakona Dr. Musfiqur Rahman, the meeting was addressed, among others , by deputy secretary of the information ministry Robiul Hussain, General Secretary of Netrakona Press Club Shamolendu Paul, former secretary of the Press Club M Faqrul Haque, Editor of daily Jononetra Muklesur Rahman Khan, senior journalists Habibur Rahman, Abdul Hannan Ranjan and Mahbubul Kibria Chowdhory.
Referring to the matter of formation of ninth wage board for the print and electronic media workers, the additional secretary Monjurur Rahman said that the information ministry has been putting in it’s best and sincere efforts to announce the wage board soon.
Earlier, Rahman accompanied by DC Netrakona Dr. Musfiqur Rahman and Deputy Secretary of the Ministry Robiul Hussain visited the on-going construction works of three-storied Netrakona Press Club Bhaban here.
During his visit, he expressed his satisfaction over the progress of the construction works. The government sanctioned taka one crore and eleven lakhs for construction of the Press Club Bhaban.
