Cultural personalities at a function here have stressed flourishing multi-dimensional latent talents of children to make them enlightened citizens for leading the nation toward peace and prosperity.
They made the suggestion on Friday at a certificate and prize distribution function of the district level ‘Bijoyful Competitions-2018’ arranged for school level children at Shishu Academy auditorium in the city. The district administration with assistance of Bangladesh Shishu Academy organised the competitions with participation of some 150 children of the primary and secondary level schools of the district.
The participating children divided in different category-wise groups took part in the competitions like making national flower of water lily, poem recitation, story writing, drawing, solo acting and making film.
Deputy Director (Local Government) Ruhul Amin Mian attended the function and distributed prize bonds, child magazines and certificates among winner children as the chief guest. With District Children Affairs Officer Imran Mian in the chair, former general secretary of the District Shilpokola Academy Tauhidur Rahman Tutul attended the function as special guest.
District Education Officer Roksana Begum, Assistant Commissioner Afrin Nahar, president of Rangpur unit of Bangabandhu Shishu Kishore Mela Raihan Uddin and trainer of District Shishu Academy Ohedul Islam Akash spoke.
The speakers laid importance on enhancing extracurricular activities at the educational institutions to flourish latent talents of school level children to make them brilliant citizens for building a prideful nation.
The chief guest suggested the authorities of different educational institutions for frequently arranging extracurricular activities for school students to make them knowledgeable citizens with patriotic zeal and human virtues.
