Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials will take decisions about the date and place of cutter master Mustafizur Rahman’s left shoulder surgery on Monday.
BCB media committee chairman Jalal Yunus, in a press briefing on Saturday, told reporters: “Hopefully we will be able to confirm everything regarding the surgery schedule of Mustafizur on Monday.”
The cutter master will undergo surgery under Greenwich surgeon Tony Kochhar, if we decide to continue his treatment in England, added Jalal.
According to sources, the BCB authorities are searching for other better options as well where Australia is the first choice.
Earlier it was said that the surgery would be done in England as the Satkhira lad is staying there for his county cricket.
BCB physician Debashish Chowdhury said: “We are yet to be sure when the surgery will be done. We will take final decision after consulting with Australian surgeons.
“If the decision is to send him in Australia, our first choice is Dr Greg Hoy.”
Dr Greg Hoy is a specialist in shoulder, upper limb and hand surgery. He had a good number of records of operating the surgeries of Bangladesh National Cricket Team players– Habibul Bashar Shumon, Tamim Iqbal and Enamul Haque Jr.
