Five women who went to the hospital on Tuesday to see the body of Ayub Ali Hossain Rubel, 55, one of the five killed after a box girder of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project fell on a car, claimed themselves as wives of Rubel.
Meanwhile, another young girl, named Nipa Akter claimed herself as a daughter of Rubel. She says her mother Nargis Akter divorced Rubel and later remarried. Nipa also said his father’s first wife died during delivery of child. Hearing the death of Rubel, she came to see her father for the last time, Nipa added.
It has been learnt that Rubel married seven times. During the time, Rubel’s wives Khandaker Beauty Akter, Pushpa Begum, Rehana, Shahida and Salma Akter Putul were present at the Shahid Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital.
Victim’s wife Shahida told the media that Rubel would live with her in Singair of Manikganj. He came to the city to attend a bridal party and the car he used for the journey was purchased with her money. His name was registered in the voter list of Singair as Nur Islam.
