Amidst great carnival atmosphere, the players’ draft for Masters Cricket Carnival (MCC), a tournament for former cricketers, was held at the media centre of Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur on Tuesday.
In the 15-member each four teams, except Chittagong Masters which finalized 14-memer squad, the organisers earlier finalized the names of five icon players of their respective team while the remaining players have been recruited through players’ draft.
Five franchise-based teams — Beximco-Dhaka Masters, Air Asia Rajshahi Masters, Raw Nation Khulna Masters, Amber-Chittagong Masters and Sylhet Masters Sixers — will participate in the four-day competition.
The competition will begin on May 2 at two venues of Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in tourist hub of Cox’s Bazar.
This time 15 overs matches will be held and the last over will be ten balls in league basis with all the participating teams will play each others. The two best teams of the league phase then will move to the final scheduled to be held on May 5.
Powered by Scan Cement, private satellite channel ‘Channel I’ will telecast live all matches of the competition.
