Five teachers have been released from conducting examination duty for distributing wrong set of question paper in SSC examination in Barishal.
The action was taken after two probe committees formed in this connection found their negligence in performing duty and liable for the mistake.
The accused teachers were Nazma Begum, assistant head teacher and hall superintendent, Masuda Begum, Md.Saiduzzaman, Shahnaz Parveen Shimu and Sheikh Zebunnesa, teachers of Halima Khatun Secondary School and invigilators of the rooms of that SSC examination center.
Besides center secretary Md Fakhruddin, headmaster of the school, also asked to show cause about the matter.
Mentionable wrong set of question paper irregular examinees of 2018 of Bangla first paper (Multiple Choice) at ongoing Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination under Barishal Education Board held at February 3, 2020, were distributed mistakenly to the regular examinees of 2020 .
They wrongly distributed question papers were prepared for irregular examinees under old syllabus of 2018.
At least 17 regular examinees seating in that center were affected by that mistake.
As a result affected examinees and their guardians expressed their agitation and anxiety at the center after ending the examination.
Barisal Education Board Chairman Prof Md. Yunus after the incident visiting the center assured the affected examinees and their anxious guardians that the examinees who answered the wrong question paper would be considered positively during evaluation of examination paper.
The number of those affected examinees would not exceed seventeen, he added.
Then Barishal Education Board (BEB) formed a 3-member probe committee led by school inspector Abbas Uddin Khan on February 3 and asked them to submit their report within three working days, confirmed BEB chairman Prof. Md. Yunus.
Besides another 3-member probe committee led by Proshanta Kumar Das, additional deputy commissioner (ICT) of Barishal district administration also formed and asked to submit their report within three working days.
