A Kishoreganj court on Wednesday sent five suspected to jail, arrested in connection with the terrorist attack in Sholakia, rejecting their bail petitions.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Abdus Salam passed the order after police produced them in the court. The accused are Sohel Miah, Mamunur Rashid, Ariful Islam Habib, Ahsan Ullah and Tara Miah. Earlier, on July 7, in the morning of Eid-ul-Fitr day at least four persons, including a woman and two policemen, were killed in a bomb blast near the Eid congregassion at Sholakia.
Police recovered two firearms, two country-made weapons, two rounds of bullets and four magazines from the spot.
Abir Rahman, a student of North South University, who was involved in the attack, was killed in police encounter.
Police arrested Shariful Islam and Zahidul Hauqe for their suspected involvement in the incident.
Police arrested five more suspected and filed a case with the Pakundia Police Station in the connection.
