With the attraction of different type of feelings in his inner mind Syed Waqeel Ahad renders song most of the time. He is not only written lyrics of his songs but also composes tunes and music himself that always attract the listeners.
This popular singer and music composer gave his vocal for five playback tracks of Enamul Karim Nirjhar directed movie Nomuna. Director Nirjhar is now trying his level best to release the movie. Within very short time Nomuna will get release, Nirjhar hoped.
Of five playback tracks of Nomuna, Sajib Das and Milon Mahmud also gave their vocals for two duet tracks with Waqeel.
Lyrics and tunes of all the five playback tracks were composed by director Nirjhar himself. Debjyoti Mishra has coordinated the music of the tracks.
On the other hand, singer-lyricist-composer Waqeel Ahad won the MTV Silver Disk Award for new music video of his song titled Amrito Megh-er Bari. For the last three weeks this song secured top position in ‘MTV Chart Attack’ by the viewers votes.
MTV is being aired its programme in Bangladesh from last November. In each week, in the frequency of Maasranga TV a two-hour programme titled ‘MTV Programme Platform in Bangladesh.’
In voice of Waqeel, the Lalon song titled Amrito Megh-er Bari won hearts of many music-lovers and viewers.
While talking in this regard Waqeel told this correspondent, “In the programme, my song was really exceptional presentation in the horde of hard rock and metal songs. But I am grateful to the listeners that they have liked my this soft song among those numbers.”
Syed Waqeel Ahad has already gained popularity to blend baul and folk songs with the western music. Recently he presented fusion songs along with the musicians of India, Pakistan and British at ‘Folk Nations,’ organised by the British Council, in Kolkata.
Basically Waqeel came into limelight to release his last solo album titled Waqeel-er Gaan where he created a fusion of some baul songs using western instruments in his written lyrics and composed tunes of the tracks.
A nice presentation of blending of local instruments likes dhol, flute, mondira, ektara, dotara, ghatak, khamak, etc with the instruments of the western classical music is the main attraction of Waqeel’s songs.
