Five more killed in road crashes

At least five more persons were killed and several others critically injured in separate road crashes across the country on Friday.
In Bagerhat, two persons were killed and four others seriously injured in a road crash when a picnic bus hit a standing truck on the Bagerhat-Khulna highway under Sadar upazila on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Garibullah, 45, son of one Makbul and Kibria, 22, son of Kashem of Thribeni village under Shoilakupa upazila of Jhenaidah district.
Mahtabuddin, Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Model Police Station confirmed the news to media that the accident took place when a Sundarbans-bound picnic bus hit a parked truck on Khan Jahan Ali Mazar road around 5:30 am, leaving one dead on the spot and five others injured.
The injured persons were taken to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital and two were shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital where doctors declared one dead, OC added.
In Manikganj, a motorcyclist named Rakib Hasan, 20, was killed in a collision with truck in Sadar upazila of Manikganj district on Friday.
Deceased Rakib Hasan was a first-year student at Manikganj Government Debendra College, was son of Md Kuddus Ali, a resident of Hasli village in the upazila.
Abdul Jalil Molla, Chairman of Putailam Union Parishad, confirmed the matter.
In Chuyadangha, a youth named Rajab Ali was killed when a truck rammed him in Damurhuda upazila of the district on Friday.
Sokumar Biswas, Officer in-Charge (OC) of Damurhuda Police confirmed the news media.
In Lalmonirhat, a youth named Faruque Hasan (Rubel) was killed when a truck hit him in front of Circuit house of the district.
Mahfuj Alam, Officer in-Charge (OC) of Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station told the news media.
