Five more infected with coronavirus

After increase of testing facilities, the number of Coronavirus positive cases increased in the last 24 hours in Bangladesh.
Record 513 samples were collected across the country in the last 24 hours and tested those in different laboratories.
Health Minister Zahid Malik on Friday announced detection of five new Coronavirus infected patients in the country during the said time.
Before the last 24 hours, two persons were found the virus positive.
 “And thus, the number of detected Coronavirus patients moved to 61. Of them, a total of 26 people recovered and returned home,” the Health Minister said while addressing a press briefing at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).  
The Health Minister asked the people to come to laboratories for test if anyone feels need.
He said, the government expanded more testing facilities across the country.
“Among the coronavirus infected patients, 22 are in hospitals and seven are at their respective homes undergoing treatment under complete monitoring of DGHS,” said Professor Abul Kalam Azad, Director General of DGHS, during the same briefing.
The DG said a total 513 samples were collected across the country in the last 24 hours.
He said, laboratory of the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) has tested 126 samples.
In Dhaka, nine Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) laboratories have started testing while the number outside Dhaka is five, the DG said.
“All the divisions will have at least one PCR laboratory within the first week of April,” Professor Azad said.
He said that at the end of the month we expect to set up a total of 28 laboratories all over the country.
The DG said, the new infected patients were taken to isolations immediately.
He said about 14 persons were sent to isolations and 10 persons released in the last 24 hours.
