Five matches of men’s and women’s section in the Khokon-Udayan Builders Victory Day Handball competition were decided on the opening day (Wednesday) at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali Handball Stadium in the city.
In the day’s opening men’s section matches, Bangladesh Police Handball Club beat Dhaka Handball Training center by 35-12 goals after leading the first half by 19-3 goals, Borders Guard Bangladesh defeated Quantum by 39-16 goals after dominating the first half by 21-9 goals and Bangladesh Ansar outplayed Dhaka Handball Training center by 40-24 goals after leading the first half by 29-11 goals.
In the women’s section matches, Bangladesh Ansar defeated Bangladesh Police Handball Club by 30-12 goals after leading the first half by 16-5 goals while Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation outclassed Handball Training center by 34-09 goals after dominating the first half by 18-4 goals.
Earlier, State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Sikder formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest.
