Five people, including a woman and three teenage boys, were killed in two road accidents in Rangpur and Sherpur districts on Wednesday.

at Ekorchali in Taraganj upazila in the evening. Two of the deceased were identified as Shahabuddin, 50, and Oli Ahmad Shejan, 12, residents of Nilphamari district. The accident left 22 people injured, said Zinat Ali, officer-in-charge of Taraganj Police Station. The injured were taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where three of them succumbed to their injuries, he said. In Sherpur, two teenage boys were killed and another was injured when a pick-up hit their motorcycle at Chaitajani in Sreebardi upazila in the afternoon.
