Chittagong district police in separate drives arrested five persons, including a woman with five firearms, ammunitions, from Farhadabad village of Nazirhat under Fatichari upazila of the district in the early hours of Friday .Of the arrested, three were identified as Saju Akther,38, Mannan Mia,33, and Rashed,34. All hailed from Farhadabad village of Nazirhat under Fatichari upazila of the district.
The identities of another two youths could not be known immediately as they are undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital, said Reazaul Masud, Additional Superintendent of Police.Sensing the presence of police personnel, the unidentified youths injured after falling a one storied building, he added.
Being informed, a team of Fatichari Thana police cordoned the residence of one Shafiul Azam at Farhadabad village of Nazirhat area at 5 am and arrested them.
Later, police recovered two country-made Light Guns, one Single Barrel Gun and one cut rifle, one Air gun, 11 cartridges, two bullets and seven sharp weapons after searching the residence.A case was filed with Fatichari police station in this connection, he added.
