Five die after taking liquor in Rangpur

Five persons died and two became critically sick after taking country made liquor at Mahiganj of the city .
 Police arrested six persons in this connection. Locals and police said, the deceased and the sick drank home made liquor on Monday night in the house of Asma Begum and fell critically sick. Of them two died on the spot and four got admitted at Rangpur Medical College & Hospital[ RMCH].
Two died on Tuesday morning around 9.00 am.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Gafur, 30, s/o Sukkur Ali, Nasim Mondol, 40, his younger brother Monu Mondol, 35, s/o Shafiuddin, residents of Tajhat Biharipara of the city and Azmer Miah, 40, s/o Abdul Latif, resident of Birbadra Balatari of the city.
Abdul Mazid and Jasimuddin whose condition was stated to be critical were undergoing treatment at RMCH.
On hearing the death news, locals got agitated and vandalized the house of the wine seller house. Later, police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
The officer in charge of Kotowali police, Abdul Kader Zilani said, police arrested six drug peddlers in this connection. Police, however, remained active to arrest the other criminals.
