Five cultural personalities were accorded a reception and awarded in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the cultural field.
The award winning persons are: Abdur Rahsid (drama), Freedom Fighter Abdul Jalil (musical instrument), Abdul Khaleque Chhana (song) Abdus Samad (folk song) and Ahsan Kabir Liton (film).
Shilpakala Academy gave the ‘District Shilpakala Award-2017’ formally at a function held in its auditorium in Rajshahi on Sunday evening.
Commissioner of Rajshahi division Noor-Ur-Rahman addressed the ceremony as chief guest with Deputy Commissioner Helal Mahmud Sharif in the chair.
Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police Nisharul Arif, Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Tanveer Haider Chowdhury were present, among ohters.
