A mobile court led by National Consumer Rights Directorate, Chittagong convicted penalty of Tk.70 thousands to five traders including two food houses in the city yesterday.
The mobile court raided in GEC Crossing and Panchalaish thana crossing in the afternoon. Deputy Director of the Directorate Abu Zubair led the mobile court. Sources said two fruit traders , owners of Food Fair, Faruk Departmental store fined with Tk.20 thousand and Tk.10 thousand respectively.
On the other hand Al Amin Hotel and Star Hotel of GEC area fined with Tk.25 thousand and Tk.10 thousand respectively for unhygienic environment inside the hotel premises. Besides, Banafool and Company was fined for not mentioning the expiry date of the confectionery products, sources said.
