Staff Reporter :At least five bodies, including two females, were found on the railway tracks in the capital city and Gazipur within a span of 24 hours till Monday noon.The identities of deceased could not be known till the writing of this report on Monday night, said the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).A male, around 35 years of age, was found at Ahaki under Kaliakoir upazila in Gazipur district around 2:00pm on Sunday, said Dadan Mia, an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Joydebpur Railway Police Station.The body of a female was found at Malibagh level crossing around 8:30pm on Sunday. Hours afterwards, body of a man was found dead at Joarsahara level crossing, said Abdul Mazid, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kamalapur Railway Police Station.The body of a female was found at Dayaganj level crossing around 9:00am on Monday. The four bodies had been kept in the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) morgue, said Mozammel Haque, Sub-Inspector (SI) and In-Charge of the DMCH.On the other hand, at 12:30pm on Monday, a man aged around 30 years old, was hit by a train in the city’s Cantonment area. The body had been kept at the Cantonment General Hospital, the OC said.The reasons of the deaths could not be ascertained, sources said.
