Five BNP leaders and activists were injured in the attack

A discussion meeting was held demanding the release of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, the expectations of the war of liberation and the task of overcoming today’s Bangladesh and the ongoing political crisis. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was the chief guest at the meeting organized by Bangladesh Nationalist Freedom Fighters Party at the premises of National Press Club on Monday. Major (Retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed presided over the meeting. National leaders of BNP and its affiliated organizations including Bangladesh Muktijoddha Dal were present on the occasion. On the way back after the rally, five activists including BNP activists Md. Sawket Hossain (43), Md. Shahinur Rahman Shahin (43), Khorshed (50) and Russell (30) were injured in the attack. The bomber struck shortly after noon on Monday (March 21) in the capital’s Sayedabad area. Sookat Hossain is an active activist of BNP and an established businessman. He is a resident of Kadamtali police station area.
