UNB, Bhola :
A gang of pirates abducted a fisherman along with his trawler in the Meghna River at Janglar Char in Manpura upazila on Thursday night.
Locals said a gang of pirates from Hatia swooped on a fishing trawler around 11:30 pm and attacked the fishermen while catching fish.
At one stage, the pirates opened fire to them and frightened, five fishermen jumped into the river.
Later the gang looted fishing nets and fish along with the trawler and abducted a fisherman named Rakib.
Sub-inspector Hafiz of Manpura Police Station said police are on a hunt to rescue the abducted.
