Fisheries and Livestock Minister Muhammed Sayedul Hoque has been relieved from the advisory council of district Awami League for violating party discipline. The decision to relieve Sayedul, also the MP of Brahmanbaria-1 constituency, was taken at a meeting of the working committee of the district unit of the ruling party at Shilpakala Academy on Friday evening as he did not respond to a show-cause notice served by the district committee.
The meeting also demanded removal of the minister from the cabinet and expulsion from the party.
The meeting told that Muhammed Sayedul Hoque unilaterally nominated party’s candidates in the last Union Parishad polls without maintaining coordination with the district committee sidetracking the party high command.
On June 25, the district committee at a meeting unanimously decided to serve a show-cause notice on the minister. Later, a show-cause notice was served on him but the minister did not respond to it.
