Fish of various species worth about Tk Three lakh was allegedly poisoned to death in a hatchery at Nahara village in Kochua Upazila early Sunday.
Local businessman Kawser Ahmmed has been culvating these fishes forthe past few months. But being jealous of him, miscreants allegedly poisoned the fish pond early today for no fault of his own..
All the fishes were found floating dead- to the surprise of all and to the sorrows of the fish culturist Kaosar Ahmed on Sunday.
Valuation of the dead fish was estimated at approximately Tk 3 lakhs. Kawsar has demanded justice and punishment to the evil doers. He filed a diary with local Thana in this regard .
OC Md Mohiuddin has told the correspondent that following this complaint, he sent Police men to the spot. He is looking into the matter.
