Fish trader stabbed ‘by partners’ in Chandpur

Partners allegedly stabbed a fish trader and cut off the tendon of one of his legs following a dispute over sharing business money in sadar upazila on Saturday night.
They attackers later threw the injured into the Dakatia river beside Chandpur-Raipur road near Chandpur Bridge area.
The victim was identified as Mohammad Shamim, 35, a fish trader and son of Alamgir Hossain of Kaptai upazila of Chittagong district.
Sources at Chandpur Model Police Station said Shamim had an altercation with his two business partners-Pias and Nirob-over sharing business money as they demanded Tk one lakh instead of Tk30,000 around 11 pm in the area.
At one stage, Pias and Nirob stabbed Shamim with a sharp weapon and threw him into Dakatia river after severing the tendon of his left leg.
Meanwhile, Shamim managed to swim ashore and became unconscious.
Babul, a local fisherman, rescued him from the bank of the river and rushed him to Chandpur General Hospital.
Police are investigating the incident and trying to arrest the attackers, said Sub-inspector of Chandpur Model Police Station Shamim.
