Fish price increases in Port City

Due to the ban on fishing, prices of all kinds of fish have increased in Chattogram market. Supply of fish has decreased in Chattogram city’s Riazuddin Bazar, Chawkbazar, Bahaddarhat and Karnafuli markets.
On Friday, Loittya fish is being sold at Riazuddin Bazar at a rate of Tk 110 per kg, small size shrimp Tk 500 per kg, medium size shrimp Tk 600 per kg, Rupchanda Tk 700 per kg, Tilapia Tk 160 per kg, Coral Tk 300 per kg, Katol Tk 300 per kg.Besides, the rate of cauliflower Tk 70 per kg, cabbage Tk 55 kg, radish Tk 45 kg, tomato Tk 120 kg, bean Tk 100 kg, eggplant Tk 70 kg, potato Tk 25 kg.
Fish vendors said the fishing was stopped for 22 days.
So the demand for freshwater fish has increased. Supply of fish is less than demand. That is why the prices of all kinds of fish have gone up. Vegetable traders in Chawkbazar said that the prices of vegetables did not increase even in the adverse weather.
However, there are problems in transporting vegetables from different areas. So the price may rise.
