Former City Mayor and President of City Awami League ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury said the two hundred years old traditional Fishery ghat fish market will be preserved at any cost and none will be allowed to undermine the significance and importance of the fishery hat . He disclosed it while addressing the protest rally of the Fisheryghat Fish Market Rakkha committee arranged at Patherghatha jame mosque premises on Thursday last as chief guest.
Mohiuddin Chowdhury in his address cautioned the vested quarters against the fisheryghat who are involved with the heinous conspiracy of shifting the fishery market from feringhee bazar to other place. A vested quarter is very much interested to establish a amusement part in the fishery ghat area through shifting it . He also said if the fish market is shifted from present place, thousand of poor fishermen will have to face miseries lack of fishing business and their profession will be jeopardised . Patherghata ward Awami League General Secretary Ashfaque Ahmed also addressed the meeting.
