Conservation of Native Species of Fishes and Fry Production Project (CNSFFPP) was inaugurated in Jahangirnagar Univesity (JU) on Monday.
Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Farzana Islam inaugurated the project as the chief guest while Treasurer Prof Dr Abul Khair, Dean of Biological Sciences Faculty Prof Dr Abdul Zabber Hawlader and Chairman of Zoology Department Prof Dr Manwar Hossain attended the function, among others.
Prof of Zoology Department also Director of the project Dr Abdus Salam said the project was undertaken with the financial assistance of Education Ministry aiming at protecting the native species of fishes and producing fish fries.
“It is the ever first fisheries project undertaken by a public university in the country,” he said, adding that the project would play a vital role in protecting the native species of fishes and producing fish fries.
