After a three-month break, fish collection from the Kaptai Lake, the main source of sweet water fish, has started on Tuesday.
Hundreds of fishermen started to net fish on 700 square kilometre area after 12am. The first container of various fishes came to the Rangamati fish godown on Wednesday morning. After giving royalty, the fishes will be sent to different places of the country.
Huge quantity of fishes began to arrive in the local market from Wednesday morning. The demand was also high as the fish of sweet water came to the market after three months.
Meanwhile, the ice factories of the district started producing ice as fish collection has started. As a result, employment opportunities have been created in the ice factories.
