The first reunion ceremony of the Alumni Association of Chittagong University was held at the city’s GEC Convention Hall yesterday.
Amid much enthusiasm and reminiscence of old days, more than 8000 ex-students passed a busy day with their seniors, juniors and friends at GEC Convention on Friday.
At beginning of the delightful day, the Vice Chancellor (VC) of the university Prof Dr. Shireen Akter inaugurated the program, releasing balloons, chaired by the president of the organization, former chief secretary of the prime minister’s office Abdul Karim while former Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Abdul Mannan, Professor. M Badiul Alam, Professor. Md Alauddin, Professor. Anwarul Azim Arif and Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud were, among others, present .
“Chittagong University is a nature of beauty. I have visited many universities around the world. But I did not see such a beautiful campus like this university.” Information Minister made the remarks while addressing at the program.
“I am feeling lucky to have joined this reunion today because it seems to me that I am back to campus life. Getting together with senior, junior and friends remind me the old days.” said one of the alumni.
However, CU VC said that CU alumni have been playing a vital role in the development of the country.They are leading the country.
