The first span of the Padma Bridge has been placed on pillars, making visible the long-cherished multi-purpose bridge.
The span installation on pillar No. 37 and 38 at Jajira point of Shariatpur was completed around 10:00am on Saturday.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader visited the installation work in the morning.
The construction work of Padma Bridge started in December in 2015. It is expected to be completed by December next year.
